Welcome to The Greatest Gift! The Wallace family operates and maintains this site and our business is family owned and operated. We hail from the Midwest, the descendants of Irish roots, and share a zest for family, education and seeking to enrich the world around us. Our immediate family has lived, worked and served in the military in places as diverse as California, Illinois, Nova Scotia, Asia and Ireland, and we integrate ideas, life experiences and cultural influences from each of these locations into our daily business.

The Wallace family has always been involved with helping people and they have personally encouraged several others to develop their potential in order to improve their lives. Some have used their creative ideas and skills to start their own businesses and are enjoying success. Others find ways to contribute as valuable team members in both business and social settings.

Now we have decided there is an even more global need to “help others help themselves”. Many recent world events, including the Tsunami in Asia and the devastation by Hurricane Katrina on our own gulf coast have left many people displaced and unemployed. Their skills could be developed and new businesses could arise with encouragement and national exposure for their talent and products.

One of our major goals is to search for and find products that are made by individuals who are talented but need help in bringing their products (and personal stories) to the public. Some of our products that we present to you here on our website are made by youth groups, socially deprived individuals, physically or mentally challenged workers, and those who deserve another opportunity to get their lives in order. Our aim is to add to our existing base of product offers by seeking and finding individuals who have a product or product line that could be promoted by The Greatest Gift to help them achieve success and the joys of self-worth. We are searching for suppliers of new products every day for our “Greatest Gift” catalog and website.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could, together, find and identify products of broad appeal that we could market to “help others help themselves”? We welcome suggestions from our customers for new products we should consider, especially those being made by organizations that seek to help others help themselves as part of their credo. Our family business is comprised of Robert Jr., our Managing Director, who has founded businesses in California and Ireland, and currently teaches part-time at his college alma mater, Robert Sr., who is a lifelong educator and former high school administrator and basketball coach, (also known as Dr. Robert Wallace who writes a nationally syndicated newspaper column directed at providing guidance for today's teenagers, entitled Tween 12 & 20), Mona, who is our chief product merchandiser and copywriter and has taught 2nd and 3rd grade for 25 years, Deborah, (Robert Jr.'s sister), who teaches grade-schoolers and provides The Greatest Gift with rigorous product testing, and finally, longstanding employee Diane Hughes, who diligently manages our Operations Department.
